Build Your Future

In 2012 we started a new long-term project called “Build Your Future”. The project connects well with our ”Sponsor a Child” project and the goal is to give our high school students the chance to apply for a sponsorship for further education. When the final exams are in sight, the students can send us an application to ask for a sponsorship to go to university or a college around Kasigau. The application underpins their high school grades, ambitions, clear motivation for the specific track and they give us an overview of all costs involved. By asking all this information we hope to stimulate them to make a well-considered choice for their further education. In addition, we will assess the application to see if the further field of the study is relevant for the Kasigau region and if there will be enough jobs on the market.

So far, we have seen many positive results. For example, Adamson and Faith have realized their teacher education and are now teaching in Kasigau. Other students have completed further education as accountant, policeman and electrician.

We really hope that by providing and stimulating further education after high school it will positively impact the development of the area. We also believe that if more opportunities are created this will inspire other students to pursue further education as well.
